4ocean is committed to cleaning up plastic from beaches around the world, funding cleanup operations and making donations to ocean-related nonprofits. It generates revenue through sales and subscription sales of bracelets and other products made from recycled plastic, as well as its Pound+ trash removal program. 4ocean’s eCommerce site is its lifeblood and must deliver optimal performance to support the company’s mission.
4ocean was experiencing unresolvable issues with its eCommerce platform, including with the native checkout, site speed, and selling internationally. In addition, the company was unable to make any changes to its website, including minor content updates, without a developer.
eHouse Studio worked together with the 4ocean team to migrate its site and customer data to Shopify Plus and its subscription platform to Ordergroove without disrupting SEO and maintaining the site’s SEO value.
While the overall site design didn’t change substantially, eHouse Studio added significant value for 4ocean by enabling the marketing team to directly create, edit and publish site content using a rich, native content management system (CMS) built within Shopify Plus. eHouse created a series of modular, branded templates that allowed 4ocean to customize text and multimedia content on the various types of pages, including home, product, shopping cart, content pages, and event and promotional pages. Using a CMS not only gave 4ocean the ability to quickly evolve content as needed, it reduced the time required to get updates up on the site.
