Charleston Elves has helped provide gifts to over 500 children in need in the Lowcountry

During the holidays, we all have an abundance of opportunities to donate our time and money to good causes. One cause we champion at eHouse is Charleston Elves, which is a group of volunteers in the Charleston community who are committed to making sure that children with cancer and their families have a wonderful holiday season.

We had the opportunity a few years ago to design and build a sponsorship website for the Charleston Elves where visitors can select a child who has cancer or their sibling who needs a little extra cheer, and become their elf. These elves are provided with a list of items the child needs and a few extra fun things they might want, and they provide a holiday for them.

Charleston Elves is in partnership with CourageousKidz, and since its inception, Charleston Elves has helped provide gifts to over 500 children in need in the Lowcountry.

This year, we are helping manage 45 children who need to be ‘elfed’ and have had a blast doing it. It’s so fun to see how quickly people get on the site after it launches to lend a helping hand.

At the time of writing, there are only a few more children left to be sponsored, so make sure you hop over to the site and select one. If they’re gone by the time you’re reading this, you can always make a donation. You can also attend the wrapping party on Saturday, December 12, at Bambu Asian Bistro in Mount Pleasant. This is a time for all the elves and their friends and family to put together bags of gifts for the children and take a break from the holiday rush.

Thank you to the Charleston Elves for letting us be involved again this year!
