Best Foot Forward: Powering Seamless eCommerce Operations with ERP Integration and Automation

Oliberté makes durable, ethically made leather boots, sandals, and safety footwear. The Canada-based company is a B Corporation and a member of 1% for the Planet, contributing at least 1% of annual sales directly to environmental organizations. Committed to sustainability, workers’ rights, and social change, the company made history by opening the world’s first Fair Trade CertifiedTM footwear factory in 2012. During a recent period of growth, Oliberté needed a strategic partner to streamline backend operations – ehouse delivered, helping the company cut costs and improve customer experience.

The Challenge


Canadian shoe company Oliberté was stepping into a new period of growth – acquiring several brands and expanding into new markets, including the U.S. and the Middle East. To support this growth while reducing costs, the company needed to streamline its commerce operations and automate manual tasks.

The Solution

ehouse engineered the right fit for Oliberté, reconfiguring the company’s commerce strategy and streamlining processes to reduce costs and errors, and fulfill orders faster.

Integration platform as a service (iPaaS): ehouse seamlessly integrated and automated workflows across Oliberté’s ERP (Blue Link), ecommerce site, shipping/label creation software and third-party logistics (3PL) partner. The team implemented a point-to-multipoint integration, enabling data from a single application to be sent to multiple targets in a single workflow. For example:

  • New orders move automatically from the ecommerce site to Blue Link ERP and then to 3PL Landmark Global’s shipping system for label creation
  • Fulfillment status updated from 3PL to ERP to ecommerce site
  • Return and exchange processes are automated from the online store back into Blue Link ERP

Agility and scalability: With the integrations in place, Oliberté was able to quickly pivot to meet spiking demand for surgical masks during the COVID-19 pandemic. The new inventory and products were connected to the company’s backend applications without requiring reconfiguration or changes to the underlying data integration strategy.

Oliberté now has more bandwidth to put its best foot forward. With orders and backend applications integrated at scale, the company can focus on what truly matters to them: creating exceptional customer experiences and giving back to the community and environment in sustainable ways.
