Designer Matt Stevens Shares Project Highlights (and Lessons too)

We were honored to have kicked off October's Dribbble meetup with special guest speaker Matt Stevens. Matt joined us in person from Charlotte and presented an array of his featured design work and some stories behind the work. In honor of the Halloween holiday, and without naming names, was also cool enough to share a few "scary" stories that you might encounter when working on your favorite projects. We often learn from the things we do well and the mistakes we might make along the way. Design is a journey!

This Dude Rocks and So Can You

If you're not familiar with our friend Matt Stevens, let us enlighten you. Matt is a designer, illustrator, and creative tinkerer from North Carolina. With a focus in brand identity and illustration, his goal is to always do thoughtful and unforgettable work.

When Matt was asked about choosing personal projects in relation to future client work he says,

"It's a popular notion to say 'do what you love and people will hire you,' but I don't think that's true. Do what you love and people might hire you... I think it's more about if I do this thing and nothing ever comes from it, do I feel like it was worth it..?."

Hooray For Our Sponsors and Speakers

A big thank you to Matt for making the trip down and sharing his inspiring work as well as a few of his project highlights and learned lessons. As always a special thanks to our amazing global sponsors as well Dribbble and Shopify, along with eHouse Studio for hosting the event. Thanks to our other amazing sponsors Cotton Bureau, Local Works, Palmetto Brewing and A Book Apart. You made it possible to giveaway some stellar door prizes and raffle swag during our event.
