As a group dedicated to the principle that a beautiful community helps make a great community, the Charleston Park Conservancy and the Park Angels make sure Charleston residents get the most out of their 120 parks. What they weren't getting the most out of was their website. At {e} house we can't claim to have a green thumb, but we have a full spectrum of web solutions and were more than happy to help the Charleston Park Conservancy and the Park Angels put together the website they needed.

The Charleston Parks Conservancy and Park Angels asked for a website that could achieve several goals. It had to be as beautiful as the parks themselves, but it also had to provide plenty of information to visitors, help new and longtime Park Angels social network and encourage community involvement and donations. We began with an information architecture that made getting around the site as intuitive as possible, so that new visitors could easily find the information they desired and existing Park Angels could easily access the social networking boards. Cased in a warm and inviting graphic design, the site also included a content management system to allow for the Park Angels in charge to make quick and regular updates so all event information and community calls to action remained current. We even created a parks directory with valuable information for Charleston park lovers and visitors to the Lowcountry. Finally, we optimized the site to help increase traffic and used email marketing to help drive new volunteers and donors to the Charleston Park Conservancy and the Park Angels.

Elected a Favorite Website on CSS, the site has proved just as popular with end users, increasing traffic and helping Charleston Park Conservancy and the Park Angels continue their mission. Their traffic has increased by over 130%, with the average person visiting the site checking it out for almost 3 minutes. What's more is that it's gaining international attention. Within the first month of its launch, there were thousands of visits from 120 countries.
