I recently had the pleasure to sit down and talk with local Charleston photographer, Diana Lauderdale. Not only is she an incredibly talented photographer, but she thinks outside the box, by taking her photography “off the wall.” With a variety of products from distressed wood blocks to leather cuffs all decorated with her photos, she offers an array of ways to portray her work. (I personally have a suede cuff with the “SOUTH” image, I absolutely love it!) I hope y’all enjoy this small insight into the life of Diana Lauderdale as much as I did.
Ashley Goad recently responded to our call for creative people to be featured on the {e} Chalkboard Blog. We are honored and excited to show her work.
For those of you who have not been to Folly Beach, SC. The residents use an old fishing boat along the side of the road onto the island as a mural. They paint announcements for weddings to Fourth of July holiday messages.
Aaron took this photo after the 9 firefighters died in the furniture store last year on June 18th. We thought we would do our part today to remember those who died and their families that are left without their loved ones.

Charleston is no stranger to art. Strolling through Downtown’s French Quarter, you’ll stumble upon dozens of galleries filled with masterpieces of all art forms. What you probably won’t find in this spot is the work of John Pundt. John’s artwork takes a different spin from the traditional paintings and sculptures of the French Quarter, and focuses on an alternative art form: screenprinting.

The Library of Congress has taken a great step, by creating a Flickr account, to make their photography easily accessible. At {e} house studio, we really like vintage photography, so we have gone through and picked some of our favorites from their archives.
With cold weather surfing season coming to a close, we thought we would reminisce with some cold photos of our favorite spot, Folly Beach, SC. Read a little about Folly Beach history.
